Summary:  The Sales Representative, Southern California, under the direction of the Regional Sales Director, West, will be responsible for prospecting and driving sales of our bioprocess products and solutions in southern California, including San Diego and the Los Angeles Basin. This position will play a key role in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers while achieving sales targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build and manage a sales territory, including customer calls, product and quote inquiries, and technical requirements.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and increase market share for bioprocess products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal cross functional teams including Marketing, Inside Sales, and Product Development to ensure a coordinated approach in delivering customer-focused solutions as well as to create higher market perception and successful strategies to gain incremental business at the accounts
  • Develop new customers in the biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, CGT, and life sciences industries on behalf of CCG products and services within the assigned territory.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and maintain CRM records to track sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Frequently assess the potential of each customer and create individualized strategic business plans.
  • Learn and maintain a high level of knowledge related to CCG products, business objectives, and sales opportunities
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Work with internal team members to increase revenue and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions to customers as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and long-term partnerships with existing and new clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet their process applications requirements.
  • Promote a high level of customer service by understanding customer needs, providing solutions, and engaging with customers
  • Coordinate and participate in marketing activities in assigned territory (customer-specific and regional trade shows)
  • Create sales reports and provide sales data to senior leadership.
  • Create and manage sales budget with senior leadership.
  • Attend continuing education and training programs as required.
  • Travel to customer accounts within territory and to corporate headquarters as required.
Desired Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in life science or business-related field; Masters a plus
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in bioprocess or life science products industry.
  • Proven track record in sales, preferably in the bioprocess, biopharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
  • Strong understanding of bioprocess technologies, Single-Use applications, equipment, and products.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, customer service, and presentation skills.
  • Must possess great critical thinking skills and ability to adjust in a fast-growing business.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and driven to achieve sales targets.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated territory as required.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements within the bioprocess industry.
  • Existing network and relationships within the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
  • Experience with CRM software for managing sales activities.
